Summer Theatre Camp

6th–7th graders

Wednesdays, 12–5 p.m. (at HPJH)

8th–12th graders

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12–5 p.m. (at HPHS)


Camp Director: Mr. Mark Fairbrother, HPS drama teacher

Camp Assistants: Reggie Wilson & Christy Gardner

Description: This afternoon-only summer camp introduces middle and high schoolers of Hazel Park Schools to the various facets of mounting of a production (e.g. scripting, lights, set & prop design, performance, and more).


Outcomes: Any committed participant will acquire skills in deep reading, theatre appreciation, effective collaboration, and multidisciplinary arts & technical knowhow that will help them contribute more meaningfully to creative projects. Additionally, students will foster connections with peers and industry professionals.


💰 $15 [HPS students; one-time fee for a T-shirt]

📍 Hazel Park High School (HPHS) or Junior High (HPJH)

Space is limited. Locations, dates, and times subject to change. While consistent attendance is recommended, students do not need to attend every session.
